It has been confirmed that the upcoming 13th One Piece feature film, One Piece Film Gold, is set to be released on 743 screens across Japan from July 23, which is the highest number of screens ever in the Japanese film history, far surpassing the previous record of 653 marked by Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F’ in April 2015. The last One Piece film, One Piece Film Z opened with 300 screens in December 2012, becoming the top-grossing One Piece film at the time.

In addition, One Piece Film Gold will be released in 2D, 3D, 4DX Digital, and MediaMation MX4D formats. It is the first time for the anime franchise to get 4DX and MX4D screenings in Japan. Trailers for the 4DX and MX4D editions are scheduled to be shown at the theaters from May 28.
